I signed up for a one-year subscription to their 1TB plan at £39.99. Right off the bat, I noticed the upload speeds were impressive. With my Gigabit fiber connection, I was hitting around 50MB/s, which is the fastest I’ve experienced with any cloud storage. At £39.99 for a year of 1TB, it’s a solid deal compared to other services. However, there’s a big jump to the next tier at 5TB, with no options in between.

Icedrive claims to provide zero knowledge encryption, and I gave it a whirl. It works fine, but here’s the catch: you can’t use it with their automatic sync feature. Your encrypted files have to be kept separate from the non-encrypted ones. The encryption happens on your end before you upload, so your key isn’t stored anywhere.

The biggest issue I faced was with their Windows Sync/Management software; it just couldn’t handle a large number of files. I needed to sync around 140,000 files totaling 350GB, and it struggled big time. I reached out to support, who were helpful and offered some suggestions that worked initially, but then more issues cropped up. You can set the sync interval anywhere from 1 minute to daily; I had mine set to 30 minutes, but even after 6-7 hours, the sync hadn’t completed. It works fine for smaller sets, but if you’re dealing with thousands of files, it’s not up to the task. Plus, you’re limited to a maximum of 5 sync jobs, which isn’t just 5 folders but 5 total jobs.

To work around this, I tried using a third-party sync tool with the WebDAV option Icedrive provides, but I noticed a significant drop in speeds, and the Icedrive server often wouldn’t respond to WebDAV requests. The sync tool was functioning perfectly with Google Drive and Dropbox, so it wasn’t the issue.

Support was generally helpful, but their response time could be slow. Usually, I’d hear back the next day, regardless of when I reached out—early morning or late at night, it was always the next day. They did answer my questions directly instead of sending me a bunch of generic responses, which was a nice change from some other providers.

Ultimately, I decided to give up on the sync software and requested a refund, which was processed without any hassle by the next business day. No complaints there. I’ve since switched to Dropbox, which, while slower than Icedrive, at least has reliable sync software and offers a 2TB plan that fits my needs better.

In conclusion, if you’re after an affordable cloud storage option that’s fast and offers zero knowledge encryption, go for it. But if you have complex syncing requirements, steer clear of the Windows software—it’s just not up to the task. And don’t count on a third-party sync tool either, as I found their WebDAV interface to be hit or miss.

I'm really happy with it so far. The bandwidth is fantastic, and both the Windows desktop app and the Android app have been working like a charm for me. It’s got all the features I want, like sharing specific folders or even single files through a link. It just does its job, and I haven't run into any problems, which is why I'm giving it this rating.

This service is really user-friendly and I totally recommend it.

Alright (not flawless) for a solo Windows user. It's a pretty simple backup solution. Not ideal for teamwork. Support is really lacking. Sure, a few issues were fixed by the support team, but it definitely took some patience.

I've tried a bunch of cloud storage options like Icedrive, Pcloud, Degoo, Idrive, and even Prism drive, Onedrive, Google drive, iCloud, and Koofr. Out of all these, Icedrive stands out with its super user-friendly app and sleek minimalist design.

You only need to click a few buttons, and you're all set. Sometimes, we just want our files backed up without any hassle. While other services like Pcloud and Idrive offer similar features, they tend to have complicated folder setups for backups and other tasks.

I really dig Icedrive just the way it is. How about you?

So far, a fantastic experience. It would be awesome if the app let folks upgrade their plans and combine data instead of sending out a bunch of emails. Chris provided really nice and helpful customer service.

Even though this company touts itself as a leader in tech, their website is a total mess. For instance, it still misleadingly promotes a Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale that isn’t real. When you try to access it (after giving them your info and email, of course), the page is just gone. They never bothered to clarify or apologize for these mistakes. When I finally managed to get the deal after multiple attempts, their only response was, 'We noticed you got the deal.' Makes you wonder what else this so-called privacy-focused 'zero-knowledge' cloud provider might be fibbing about.

[Update] I finally got the service up and running, but it comes with limitations that aren’t clearly stated. For instance, you can share links, but storing videos on their platform for embedding on your site is a no-go. So, the main reason I bought the service is pretty much shot.

Icedrive really nailed it! The speed for uploading and downloading is the quickest I've ever seen, and the layout of the interface and its features are just spot on.

For years, I was all about Dropbox, but I started looking for alternatives when its reliability took a nosedive. Whenever I needed assistance, I could never get in touch with a real person at Dropbox who could lend a hand. Then I found Ice Drive, and wow, what a game changer! My setup was a bit of a mess since I'm not the best with tech stuff. But Ice Drive jumped in right away, providing a thorough response that really hit the mark for what I needed. Ice Drive is absolutely fantastic!

Sometimes, documents freeze when I open them from Icedrive desktop, but honestly, the security is better than what you find with most. It'd be great if all your security features could be available for free accounts too.

I've been using Icedrive for over a year now, and I gotta say, it's one of the most essential, intuitive, smooth, and speedy online drives out there. It'd be awesome to see a free plan that's a bit bigger than 10GB, maybe around 15 or 20GB, to draw in more users than the big G. Most importantly, that discounted lifetime deal for the 150 GB plan was fantastic, and I really hope they consider bringing it back so I can sign up!

I've reached out to them multiple times about fixing their PDF viewer. The scroll bar gets jammed under the title bar. Plus, their navigation dashboard is always glitchy and missing a bunch of essential features. They keep promising to address these issues, but honestly, I haven't noticed any improvements at all.

I'm really into it! The interface is super easy to handle. I've got it on both my Android devices and my laptop, which means I can access and organize my files from just about anywhere! Big thanks to the team for all their hard work.
